Today Mike and I are leaving for San Francisco to meet up with Rob and Allison and then head to Healdsburg, a great little city, in the heart of Sonoma Valley. We are super excited to be going back for Barrel Tasting Weekend. 3 years ago, we planned this trip and didn't know that we are going during this weekend, so we lucked out. It was great. For a set price, now $20 (back then $10) you got a wrist band and a glass for the weekend, where you hop around from winery to winery and try what they have in the barrel. If it tastes good in the barrel, you know it will taste good when its ready.
So for this time around, we decided to go again on this weekend. We are staying in Healdsburg again, but at a different bed and breakfast. We actually weren't able to get into the B&B, but this place had downtown apartments, so we opted for one of those, which will also be fun!
I know we are both excited, but I think I am a bit more excited than Mike. It's about 2 months now and I think its a good enough time to have been away from family/friends. It will be good to see familiar faces and spend time with them.
Anywho, I must finish packing and get ready before our 1;30 bus to the airport. then its a long flight to San Fran, where we will arrive on the same day that we left, but earlier!

USA! USA! USA! That's what I'd be chanting on the flight home....All 14 hours....until they opened the door mid flight and kicked me out. :-(
